i went back to Orion to seek out that which I could not find last night. I started at the lowest star in Orion’s belt (Alnitak, or Zeta-Ori) and panned to the left about half the width of the finder’s view. In the 25mm EP, I panned around a bit and found it easily. Very dim. I see a faint glow around two faint stars…these stars seem to resemble what is described elsewhere (like wikipedia), but it seems to me the nebula should be brighter. I’ll have to revisit this some other night.
